The Ranga project is a sea ranching project that offers some of the worlds biggest catches of Atlantic salmon. It’s a great river with a broad variety of pools but fishing is based on a hatchery program and even if the fish can not spawn its discussed and questionable in many ways. Visiting Iceland is like traveling backward in time to around 100 million years ago, when dinosaurs still roamed the plains, and humans were a distant thought. We spent 10 days exploring the desolate landscapes of this iconic country, following a crazed Icelandic fisherman named Kristján. We butted heads, battled rainstorms, spent days without catching anything, and made some of our favorite fishing memories. We tried fermented shark meat, slept in wet sleeping bags, and hiked dozens of miles in search of giant trout. Iceland is one of those places that still haunts our dreams. i am offering a song me and rosalía sang together the profits will to help the fight against fish farming in iceland it will come out in october people at the fjord seyðisfjörður have stood up and protested against fish farming starting there we would like to donate sales of the song to help with their legal fees and hopefully it can be an exemplary case for others iceland has the biggest untouched nature in europe and still today it has it´s sheep roaming free in the mountains in the summers it´s fish has swum free in our lakes , rivers and fjords so when icelandic and norwegian business men started buying fish farms in the majority of our fjords , it was a big shock and rose up as the main topic this summer , we don´t understand how they had been able to do this for a decade with almost no regulations stopping them . this has already had devastating effect on wildlife and the farmed fish are suffering in horrid health conditions and since a lot of them have escaped , they have started changing the DNA in the icelandic salmon to the worse and could eventually lead to its extinction there is still a chance to safe the last wild salmon of the north our group would like to dare these business men to retract their farms ! we would also like to help invent and set strict regulations into iceland´s legal system to guard nature . the majority of the nation already agrees with us so this protest is about putting the will of the people into our rule-systems . warmth björk

Ice fishing for a burbot in Yakutia - the coldest inhabited place in the world! One of my favourite winter activities - ice fishing! Very exciting and also difficult because of much work. In this video I show how we ice fish in Yakutia. Fishing for a burbot is legal in Yakutia, but no more than 5 tails per day. It was my first time when we caught a such a big burbot. The season on one of most unique places in the world - that's if you are into 100% wild and big land locked Brown Trout. This is Thingvallavatns ION in Iceland which has been my home water for years. This is where I spend my spring until the Salmon arrive. All fish in this video were released and should be to keep this one of a kind place unique! Filming in the river is not aloud in order to give the fish peace to spawn. No fishing in spawning time aloud of course. All supervison and biological work is managed by Jóhannes Sturlaugsson.

In this video we follow Peter on his annual pilgrimage to the Laxa I Kjos river in Iceland for his hosted trip at the end of July 2022. Having had low water years in the past, this year was the opposite, with a deluge of rain on arrival that fined down quickly into some fabulous fishing. Different tactics were called for this year with the weight of water but despite the weather there were two exceptional days that produced 74 salmon with a total of 160 fish for the week.
